The Yankees are poised to add power to their lineup, this time from the left side of the plate. SNY MLB Insider Andy Martino reports the yankees are progressing on a deal to add Texas Rangers slugger Joey Gallo.
The yankees are a predominantly right-handed lineup, especially with the switch-hitting Aaron Hicks lost for the season (torn sheath in left wrist). Brett Gardner and Rougned Odor provide those at-bats, but Gallo should be fixated right in the middle of the lineup.
Gallo has a .223 average on the season, but he gets on base, sporting a .379 mark in that category. He’s also slugging .490 with 25 homers and 55 RBI.
This is a developing story. More to come…
